*please don't run away I died for you*

via my We [heart] It
Dear Friends
Okay, so this thought came to me last night, and it was pretty staggering and I thought I would share it with you all. I think I read something similar from a book, but it just hit me again.
When you become a Christian your whole life changes, right? Things start happening; hearts become new, hurts are healed, and bridges mended. Not in one day, maybe not even in a year, but those changes are there. Anyway, that's besides the point.
When you become a Christian you become the bride of Christ. So, picture this with me. Let's say it's your wedding day, everything is going just like you dreamed it would when you were a little girl. Your husband-to-be is waiting at the end of the isle with eyes filled with love, and there you are... happy, and still not comprehending that this man really asked you to be his wife...you say your vows and before you know it you are husband and wife.
Then comes the reception... guests are waiting at every corner wanting to greet you and tell you how happy they are for you. Suddenly you wander away into the dining room and your husband loses sight of you completely.
He goes to look for you, and to his deep pain and surprise, there you are, laughing and talking to another man; promising to be his.
Your husband is crushed, his heart is torn, and then he lifts his hands and there, are the scars... the scars that He got when He died on that cross so that He could make a covenant with you. He gave everything for this day... He offers us love, protection, security, and where are you? Giving yourself away to a world that will destroy you, and offer you nothing but pain and broken promises.
Yet there He stands... watching you, and He pleads with you... Please don't run away; I died for you. For you.
Would we so easily give up His love, when He gave everything for us when we were yet dead in our sins? Would we walk away from Him?
Then the bride turns, and to her distress she sees Him; weeping in the corner, His heart broken, yet His arms are outstretched, and He beckons her to return to Him. Tears fill her eyes and she can't believe what she's done, yet all she sees in His eyes is the same love she saw when she was walking down the isle...

And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." -John 8:11

So there it is... I hope it's blessed you in some way...
Your sister in Christ,
Amy Jane

  1. This is good Amy! I've been brought to that realization many, many times, about how I turn to other things instead of Christ. The message at church this morning was really good for that too! Anyway, have a great night and I wil see you tomorrow!
