Finding You...

It's one of those days where time seems to slow down
And you get to take a close look at who you are and why
You are what you are.
It's one of those days where everything seems a bit surreal
And you rub your head and wonder; "Am I really awake?"

You step outside and a hazy cloud of smoke covers our
View of the mountains, and inside of the house we have
light streaming in from the windows that seems orange,
And strangely bright. This wildfire has destroyed so much...
Can beauty come from ashes?
That's the beautiful thing: it can.

Outside on the edge of our property is a mound of dirt
Where I like to sit and look out at the scenery...
It's my special place; the place I go to when I'm hurt or upset,
the place that I go to when I simply want to Find God.

Yet sometimes it doesn't seem simple.
Sometimes I get lost in this complicated fog of life!
I search; I grope around in the darkness, I desperately lift up my
Hands in an effort to free myself of life's entanglements.
Nothing.

I'll see Christ working in the lives of my friends and
I'll wonder--God, why can't I find You? Why is it that I can't
break through? Why is it that I've stopping climbing God's
mountain of growth? My heart will cry out, and sometimes it's
like every minute that it seems I'm alone is pushing me
closer to the edge--
God I can't do this much longer! I can't hold on!

And yet all I need to do is look at a note I've stuck unto my desk of two verses.
Then will you call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen
to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search
for Me with all your heart. (-Jeremiah 29:12-13)
The answer is right there...
With all your heart. Leave behind all of life's worries,
all thoughts of your friends, all thoughts of what's tomorrow and
go into your "prayer closet" alone, and with a heart that's
focused on God.

Sometimes distractions, and all kinds of things can build up
A wall and at the first pounding it won't even budge.
Cry louder; pound harder, and don't stop until you feel those walls
give way.
You will find Him, but you can't give up.
Have a wonderful; awesome weekend! =)
p.s if you have the time; I'd highly recommend that you watch
this short video from Eric Ludy. It's awesome.

  1. Amy, I know what it is like to be in a fog! It is sooo hard! It seems like sometimes God uses those to get our focus back on Him because we have to turn to Him for help! Also remember, sometimes people take baby steps while others take giant steps; it is all in God's perfect plan for each of our lives! I hope you feel better and I'll see you tomorrow! :)
