Hello everyone!
Behold I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it.... -Isaiah 48:10-11
Sometimes it is hard to understand why God does certain things. Why He allows certain things to happen. Why, why, why. The verse above states that the Lord does those things for His own sake. He might take us through the fire, but we will never be alone. 'When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.' -Isaiah 43:2 He is refining us, molding us into His image. He refines differently with different people, and some must walk through the "furnace of affliction." Your grief or pain has a purpose. If you have sinned, and you are suffering because of that; learn from your mistakes, and keep going. If you are "heavy laden" cumbered with burdens to heavy for you to bear, then think of this, 'For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.' -2 Cor 4:17
There is a reason you are going through what you are. Seek the Lord's face, and trust Him to show you what that is in His time. Keep pressing on, guys. Don't give up, be strong.
'Whatch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.' -1 Cor 16:13

You were thinking of your sister when you wrote this weren't you, Amy? :)
