Why, why are we so afraid?

You didn't shut Your ears,
When you heard the cries of the broken.
You didn't close Your eyes,
When You saw a hungry beggar.
You didn't curse,
The thief at Your side.
You didn't judge,
The woman at the well.
Because this is why You came!
If we are the followers of Christ,
then why, why are we so afraid?
They walk around us, day after day,
The thief, the beggar, and the broken!
Hundreds are walking into hell,
Without a friend to care.
When you see the LORD, on Judgment day,
Will you be able to say; "I tried!"
You didn't keep,
The children away,
You didn't hide Your face,
From the blind man!
Because this is why You came!
